Looking for an experienced Boat Captain to join our team at Sheraton PCB!

Position: Boat Captain

REPORTS TO:         Director of Engineering

Summary

Responsible for operating boat in the bay, lagoon, and gulf. Supervises crew, operates boat, ensure safe port, and provides high level of guest satisfaction to those aboard vessels.

Primary responsibilities

  • Command vessel in various bodies of water.
  • Hire and supervise boat assistants keeping in mind the service expectation.
  • Maintain boat and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain engines, winches, navigational systems, fire extinguishers, and life preservers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the boat and general maintenance.
  • Stick to planned route.
  • Ensure adequate levels of hydraulic fluid, air pressure, and oxygen.
  • Resolve problems effectively.
  • Maneuver other watercraft safely.
  • Inspect vessel.
  • Must monitor weather to ensure boat is operated only during safe weather conditions.
  • Respond in a courteous manner to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure strong guest satisfaction.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and experience:

Must be able to stand up and move about the boat for the majority of shift.

Must be able to lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally.

Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on a frequent basis.

Must be able to frequently handle objects and equipment to maintain the boat.

Must be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).

Must be able to work in variable room temperatures.

Must be able to work with loud noises.

2 years recent Captain experience on a passenger vessel.

  • Must hold current State and USCG License (minimum 50-ton) plus a Boaters Safety Certification.
  • 1st Aid, CPR AED for adult and child is required.
  • Current valid Driver’s license and satisfactory MVR for insurability.
  • Basic computer skills, to include email.

We are hiring 1 full-time captain and 1 part-time captain.
