The Guest Service Agent is a front line professional that ensures a positive overall impression of the property as well as assists with all aspects of guest services. They assist guests in all facets of the hotel experience in an efficient, courteous and professional manner that maintains high standards of service and hospitality. The candidate must maintain complete control of front entrance and lobby areas. The Guest Service Agent must represent the hotel through excellence in guest services and possess a complete knowledge of all aspects of the Front Office, the hotel, the city and its attractions.


Welcome guests and ensure efficient guest registration and check out; assist with their luggage to their room.

Prepare room key and assign room to guest.

Advise on room amenities and features; may take room reservations.

Post all necessary charges to guest accounts.

Answer incoming calls and respond to guest inquiries.

Comply with established cash handling procedures.

Serve as the hotel liaison with hotel and non-hotel attractions, facilities, services, and activities.

Handle guest complaints or any other events that may arise and report it to management.

Reports any guest incidents, accidents or deficiencies immediately.

  • Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.
  • Must be completely familiar with the role during hotel emergencies, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, the use of Incident Reports and Logbooks.
  • Provincial legislation requires employees to work safely and cooperate with their employer by following the health and safety rules for the job.


Minimum 1 year previous guest services experience required.

Fluent in English (written and oral).

Must be able to lift heavy luggage.

Fluent in English (written and oral).

Ability to work shift work, including weekends and holidays.


Possess sensational customer service philosophy.

Self-starting personality with an even disposition.

Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.

Can communicate well with guests.

Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.

Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.
