Boat Charter Captain
Horseshoe Bay Resort
We are looking for an experienced Boat Captain to join our team at Horseshoe Bay Resort!

Definition:
Charter Captain mainly works outdoors and is responsible for Operational safety of the vessel and safety of the crew and all passengers onboard. Other responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of the yacht and other duties assigned by the Marina Operations Manager.
General Duties:
- Greet and assist members and guests with a professional, flexible, and accommodating attitude.
- Directly supervise the Mate, Deckhand, and Food and Beverage Personnel in all areas of the Marine Transportation safety, security, and training.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Dining Yacht.
- Maintain professional composure in high stress environment.
- Demonstrate safe and effective Vessel operation and crew management skills.
- Demonstrate sound judgement on Yacht operations, weather conditions, and with an awareness of the overall guest environment.
- Routinely conduct Emergency drills in accordance with US Coast Guard and State of Texas regulations.
- Routinely conduct and participate in safety meetings and setting expectations to ensure an efficient and safe operation of the vessel, including proper use of equipment during any possible onboard emergency.
- Maintain vessel operations and maintenance logs, personnel reports, and other Ship business records.
- Ensure vessels are in safe operating condition and verify all safety equipment is in the proper location and functioning appropriately.
- Notify Marina Operations Manager of any repairs needed and coordinate repairs, as well as make sure to document.
Required Certifications:
- Minimum age requirement – 21+ due to driving licensed Resort vehicle
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet the requirements of driver insurability as established by the insurance carrier required.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen test
- 2 years recent Captain experience on a vessel over 65 ft and or greater than 25 tons.
- Must hold current State and USCG Licenses plus a Boaters Safety Certification.
- 3rd Class Radio Operator License for VHF.
- 1st Aid, CPR AED for adult and child is required.

- Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions common to Texas

- Ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
- Must be able to interact with co-workers and have a sense of TEAM
* $2000 Hiring Bonus will be paid to hourly, non-management new hires who accept an offer of employment by May 31, 2022. The first $1000 will be paid when the associate reaches 90 days employment. The remaining $1000 will be paid when the associate reaches 180 days employment.
