The Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak is looking for a FT - Order Taker - Guest Suite Dining to join our amazing Team!

**Hours: AM and PM shifts including weekends and holidays**

Responsible for answering GSD telephone and taking guest orders accurately in a helpful, friendly, courteous, and professional manner to ensure total guest satisfaction.  Upsell sides, desserts and beverages to enhance profitability.  Enters orders into computerized system and settles check upon delivery of the order.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Promptly answers GSD service telephone, announces any specials, promotes menu items, and answers questions regarding preparation methods.
  • Ensures that all guest orders are being documented, and repeat items requested back to caller to ensure accuracy and quote expected arrival time with speed and accuracy. Enters order into computerized system and settles check upon delivery of the order. 
  • Immediately input order information into point of sale system, allowing kitchen staff to begin preparation; note any special requests clearly. Prints hard copy of check to be presented with order and processes payments for orders. Complies with accounting guidelines regarding receipt of payments, check total verification, tip disbursement, cash drawer and house bank management. Maintains house bank in accordance with
  • Answer calls for pick-up of trays and/or tables and retrieves or directs other Team Members to retrieve items. Respond to guest complaints in a positive manner, negotiate a compromise and implement solution.
  • Communicate with kitchen team and check food before serving it to guest to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct.
  • Set up and deliver all VIP amenities.
  • Service all hospitality suites in accordance with Banquet Event Orders and established policies and procedure.
  • Respond to customer needs, issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales. Report all communication to immediate shift supervisor.
  • Perform all cash handling responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

Previous Serving experience required, including cash handling / customer service.  Experience in hospitality a plus.  Ability to effectively read, write and speak English required.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

Ability to obtain Maricopa Health Card (Food Handlers Card) required

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English.  Self-starting personality with an even disposition.   Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.  Can communicate well with guests.  Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.  Ability to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a cart weighing a maximum of 100 lbs., at a continuous schedule.  Ability to transport large trays weighing up to 50lbs.
