Description

Blossom Hotel Houston is looking for an outgoing and engaging Banquet Server. If you're passionate about delivering great service, if you are detailed oriented and have previous Banquet Server experience apply now!

Required Skills & Abilities:

-Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift. Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.

-Previous experience as a banquet server (+1 year experience)

-Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time

-Flexible to work holidays and weekends and any AM/PM shift

-Must have the ability to communicate in English both verbal and written

-Must be able to stand/walk for at least eight (8) hours

-TABC and Food Handler certification required

Job Description:

-Set up banquet room as instructed by Supervisor to include linen, serviceware and glassware. Once banquet is complete, reset banquet room according to Supervisor’s specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.

-Attend roll call meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.

-Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.

-Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet. Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.

-Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.

-Abide by all state, federal and hotel requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages and practice prudent portion control, and food handling.
