Metterra & Varscona Hotels on Whyte are looking for an exciting & enthusiastic part time addition to our Guest Experience team!

The Bell Service Agent is a front-line professional that welcomes guests to the hotel, maintains complete control of front entrance and lobby areas. The Bell Service Agent must represent the hotel through excellence in guest services and possess a complete knowledge of all aspects of the Guest Service department, the hotel, the city and attractions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Park guest vehicles and/or retrieve valet parked guest vehicles in a timely and courteous manner; use claim tickets to ensure appropriate delivery of vehicle.
  • Show guests to room assisting them with their luggage.
  • Respond immediately to customer inquiries regarding hotel features, services and assistance. Provide clear and understandable directions to hotel facilities and nearby attractions.
  • Check luggage for hotel guests both for day and overnight.
  • Perform floor and security checks for all public areas, guest floors and back areas.
  • Open doors and greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the lobby, baggage room and public areas in front of the hotel.
  • Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of intershift log.
  • Deliver room service, amenities and packages as required. Daily restocking of in-room minibar.
  • Field guest complaints, conducting thorough research to develop the most effective solutions and negotiate results. Listen and extend assistance in order to resolve problems such as price conflicts, insufficient heating or air conditioning, etc. Remain calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity. Plan and implement detailed steps by using experienced judgment and discretion.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 1 year previous guest services experience preferred.
  • Safe, clean driving record (Driver’s Abstract required).
  • Ability to drive standard vehicles.
  • Must be able to lift heavy luggage.
  • Fluent in English (written and oral).
  • Must be able to work varied shift work, including weekends and holidays.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Security clearance required upon offer of employment.
  • Possess sensational customer service philosophy and a self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Can communicate well with guests.
  • Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
  • Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.

Qualifications

Previous guest service experience required.
