Senior Sales Manager-SMERF - Sports, Government/Military, Religion/Fraternal organizations

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets within assigned market segments
  • Proactively solicit new business through prospecting, networking, site visits, and industry engagement
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts by building strong client relationships and ensuring repeat business
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, RFP responses, contract negotiation, and closing
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management to ensure competitive pricing and optimal inventory utilization
  • Conduct property tours, client presentations, and participate in trade shows and industry events
  • Partner with Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of group business and client satisfaction
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipelines, and accounts in CRM systems (Delphi, etc.)
  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals as outlined by the Director of Sales & Marketing

Market Segment Focus

  • Sports: Youth, collegiate, and professional team travel, tournaments, and group bookings
  • Government/Military: Federal, state, and local government accounts, per diem business, and contract compliance
  • Religious/Fraternal: Conferences, retreats, meetings, and recurring group events

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, with strong background in group sales
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals
  • Experience in one or more of the assigned segments preferred
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in sales systems (Delphi, Salesforce, or similar) and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of local market and industry trends is a plus
