Compensation: $20.32 per hour

Job Summary
This position contributes to the success of Los Angeles Athletic Club (“Company”) by creating positive experiences for every member and guest who visits the club by creating luxurious, comfortable, and relaxing environment and providing a variety of touch modalities. Using elevated guest service, the massage therapist will also suggest spa retail and fitness products and services to meet the individual needs of each guest.
Responsibilities:
Provide effective and safe physical massages that meet the members needs and expectations:
- Provides body care and massage services through a variety of modalities, meeting member’s needs and spa safety and Service Guarantees.
- Restore and restock treatment room to a clean, neat, relaxing, welcoming, and professional environment after each service.
- Ensure the privacy of each guest by maintaining treatment room private, using proper draping of member/guest private body parts, and not discussing member physical and medical needs/conditions volunteered by member/guest with anyone that doesn’t have a business reason for such information.
Provides efficient consultation on relaxation and fitness techniques based on members/guest
- Serves as an expert in muscle and body analysis and maintenance regimens.
- Enthusiastically share your knowledge of the services and amenities available to guests to assist them in feeling welcome.
- Educates guests in recommended retail products to continue homecare appropriate for their needs.
- Maintains efficient and current knowledge of retail, spa, and fitness products and services.
Create a luxurious experience for members and clients
- Greet all members and guests that you encounter, learn their name and use it in each interaction moving forward.
- Interact with members and guests in a warm, welcoming, respectful, and highly professional demeanor.
- Ensure Spa and retail areas are clean, neat, safe, and welcoming; remove any debris or misplaced items that you encounter, report any need for maintenance; report any restocking needs to Lead Concierge, Spa Supervisor or Department Head.
- Always speak in a calm, respectful, and professional demeanor; speak in a low tone of voice, close to the intended recipient.
Must Have:
Education, licenses, & certifications:
- Required: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in same or similar positions in the Spa or similar industry
- Ideal: Valid California Massage Therapist License
- Required: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Ideal: Bachelor’s or Master’s College Degree in Health or related field
- Ideal: Current California Driver License with satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle driving record.
Essential qualifications:
- Required: At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Required: Reliable and punctual attendance.
- Required: Excellent time-management skills; prioritizing and completing assigned job tasks effectively.
- Required: Travel (by vehicle and plane) for business, training, and/or development, including overnight trips.
- Ideal: Bi-lingual oral, speech, and writing skills in English and or other language is an asset in this position
- Required: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ideal: Computer Experience and NorthStar
- Ideal: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey messages clearly and compose correspondence with correct and proper grammar.
- Required: Strong presentation skills; convey messages clearly and confidently; persuade and effect change positively.
- Required: Capable of working effectively independently with minimal supervision
- Ideal: Strong analytical skills.
- Required: High attention to detail and accuracy
- Required: Strong organizational skills
- Required: Ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently meet deadlines and produce work in a timely manner.

Physical requirements, Demands, and working conditions:
Physical Exertion |
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time; walking and standing are required only occasionally. |

Pay: Hourly $20.32 USD plus commission on services.
