The Catering Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at The Bethesdan Hotel.

What you will be doing in this role:

The Catering Sales Manager will monitor event performance, maintain accurate records in sales systems, and focus on building long-term client relationships that support revenue goals and high guest satisfaction. Be responsible for generating and managing catering and event business for the hotel. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting and qualifying leads, preparing proposals and contracts, and conducting site visits with clients to showcase event spaces and services. The role involves coordinating with clients on event details, menus, room setups, and timelines, and collaborating closely with the food & beverage, banquet, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution.

This role salary ranges from $65,000 to $75,000.

  • Prospecting for new business – Internet prospecting, cold calling and contacting former clients to solicit new business and attends industry events/programs as needed.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Responding in a timely manner to incoming group/catering business opportunities.
  • Conducting hotel site inspections and client presentations both in person and virtually.
  • Creating contracts and other related booking documentation as required including but not limited to activity tracking. Manage and maintain client account files.
  • Detailing events to include all food & beverage, set up and audiovisual needs. Ask appropriate questions of the clients and make suggestions to ensure the details meet the group and the hotel’s needs.
  • Creating group resumes and communicate client needs to all departments of the hotel. Ensure hotel staff follows through on all requests.
  • Using negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
  • Proactively identifies operational challenges associated with his/her event and works with the hotel staff and customer to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite at the intermediate level (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of hotel operations or a related field,
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Catering Experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage preparation, presentation, catering service, and cost.
  • General knowledge of Hilton Tapestry helpful.

This role salary ranges from $65,000 to $75,000 and could make quarterly bonuses. Hilton experience is a plus, but not required.
