Definition: The Project Coordinator is responsible for understanding the project deliverables and creating timelines for different contractors, vendors, individuals/groups involved in the project to make sure the project remains on track for completion with set timelines. The coordinator must be familiar with the goals of the project and the responsibilities of all involved parties to include the permitting process, and some basic city and state code knowledge.

General Duties:

Coordinate and secure vendor bids. Process as required to obtain approvals and schedule the project.

  • Plan the work to be done, get the necessary personnel, and assign the right duties to the right people while working harmoniously with the resort team.
  • Hire the right people and put them on the right sites, as well as disciplining and firing contract workers when needed.
  • Coordinate tasks by different people on different sites to ensure uniformity upon project completion.
  • Ensure timely completion of the project to build client trust while avoiding unnecessary penalties.
  • Work within the budget by adequately estimating the costs and cutting unnecessary expenses.
  • Procure and allocate resources to ensure there is no shortage while avoiding any unnecessary delays caused by management decisions.
  • Manage both internal and external risks within the project’s lifetime, such as poor planning designs and government policies, which directly or indirectly affect the project.

Employment standards:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction project management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in construction project management / coordination.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lead a team by being a good and effective communicator.
  • Ability to build rapport and create a team environment where all those with project responsibilities work well together.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring daily job allocation.
  • Ability to plan how each process should be done, how resources are to be acquired, and when the project should be completed.
  • Ability to determine potential risks and devise proactive ways to solve them.
  • Ability to budget financial resources.
  • Ability to welcome feedback and use it to improve the quality of production.
  • Excellence in verbal and oral communication skills.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
    • Must have normal vision or corrective lenses.
    • Must have neat and clean overall appearance.
    • Must be able to walk and sit as a daily routine.
    • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs as a daily routine.
    • Must be able to communicate and disseminate information accurately, either written or verbally, with the general public or associates.

Must be able to comprehend reading materials.
