The Vice President of Business Strategy will help drive the company's business development initiatives focused on expanding third-party hotel management contracts for both existing properties and new developments in the U.S. and Canada. This includes engaging with hotels that are part of (i) investment sales transitioning to new ownership, (ii) current ownership seeking a change in management, and (iii) Requests for Proposals (RFPs) initiated by third-party consultants or advisors.
The role involves working closely with Crescent's established capital partners, while also maintaining a robust network of equity partners to source new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to establish relationships with institutional clients and oversee a deal from inception. This individual will thrive in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business Development & Client Acquisition: Proactively source and secure new clients, managing deal flow from initial contact through contract completion.
- Industry Engagement: Serve as secondary contact for brokers, consultants, industry analysts, and other key stakeholders to identify and source new opportunities.
- Due Diligence & Asset Evaluation: Conduct thorough due diligence on hotel assets, including the review of PIPs and operational assessments to identify value-add opportunities.
- Market Insights & Industry Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of U.S. lodging industry trends, brand evolution, and shifting consumer preferences, applying these insights to business strategy and client engagements.
- Strategic Communication: Deliver business presentations, investment reports, and memoranda to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and strategic alignment.
- Conference Representation: Attend and represent the company at major industry conferences to expand networks and identify business opportunities.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Foster strong team dynamics while upholding a reputation for integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic. Lead with a collaborative mindset while being capable of operating independently when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven Expertise: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the U.S. lodging industry, particularly within hospitality real estate, brand, finance, or brokerage.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated excellence in business and technical writing, along with outstanding oral communication skills for engaging with internal teams, clients, and industry professionals.
- Sales Expertise: utilize extensive network to build and maintain strong client relationships to drive leads and business growth.
- Organizational Leadership: Aligns with company objectives and ensure seamless execution and follow-up.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of hotel management, market trends, and investment strategies.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel as necessary for client meetings, conferences, and property evaluations.
