Description
General Duties:
- Responds in a timely manner to incoming social group business opportunities.
- Ensures that all business is booked within hotel/membership parameters. (Group MAR, appropriate F&B Minimums, Space Rental Fees, Menu Pricing).
- Conducts hotel site inspections and client presentations.
- Create contracts and other related booking documentation as required.
- Follows SOP on contract approvals from Director of Sales prior to sending to clients.
- Manage and maintain client account files.
- Attendance at member events to build relationships and lead development.
- Detail events to include all food & beverage, set up and audio-visual needs. Ask appropriate questions of the clients and make suggestions to ensure the details meet the member and hotel needs.
- Create group resumes and communicate client needs to all departments of the hotel. Ensure hotel staff follows through on all requests.
- Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Associates Degree with emphasis in Hospitality preferred; or 2-5 years of equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of Hotel/Resort Management experience highly recommended.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle report for insurance purposes.
- Ability to access, input and retrieve information from the computer, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Comprehend reading materials, speak, read, and write English.
- Professional demeanor with superb communication skills; including verbal, telephone, and email. Proper phone etiquette is necessary. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and confidentiality always.
- Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, and ability to follow-up on all details.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, and spirits.
- Must have neat and pleasant overall appearance.
- Maintain proper associate professional dress standards and adhering to standard dress code.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must have the ability to communicate in English.

- Can communicate well with members.
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints.
- Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Frequently lift 10-15 lbs.
- Able to reach top drawer of four-drawer cabinet.
- Must have normal vision or corrective lenses.
- Able to walk as a daily routine.
- Stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Ascend/descend stairs as a daily routine.

Every Associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
