About the Role
We are seeking a hands on Lead Engineer to support the daily maintenance, functionality, and safety of the hotel’s physical plant and guest spaces. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role serves as a key operational leader within a non union luxury hotel environment.
Schedule flexibility is essential. This role will work weekends and must be available to adjust hours based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute the hotel’s preventive maintenance program
Assign and complete work orders efficiently and accurately
Maintain all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen, and life safety systems
Troubleshoot and repair chillers, pumps, motors, air handling units, electrical panels, and building controls
Ensure compliance with San Francisco building codes and safety regulations
Maintain accurate logs and respond promptly to system alarms or mechanical issues
Partner with other departments to support daily operations and special projects
Oversee vendor work to ensure quality and compliance
Maintain luxury level presentation of guest rooms and public areas
What We Are Looking For
✔ Five or more years of progressive engineering or facilities maintenance experience, hospitality preferred
✔ Prior leadership experience preferred
✔ Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and building management systems
✔ Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
✔ Strong communication skills and service focused mindset
✔ Flexible availability including regular weekend work
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Comfortable working in varying temperature environments
