Description

The Mechanical/Electrical Supervisor position will be responsible for safely and successfully completing assigned maintenance operations projects for all Colonial Williamsburg – HG properties. The Mechanical/Electrical Supervisor will assist the Engineering Manager in executing larger infrastructure projects with assigned team. This includes Building Automation Systems (BAS), HVAC/R repairs/service, MEP repairs, building fire alarm systems, chiller/boiler plants and systems, primary and secondary power systems, emergency generators, emergency programs and asset protection.

Essential Functions:

  1. As directed, and within a union environment, fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, the collective bargaining agreement, and applicable state and federal regulatory requirements to include monitoring adherence to safety
    • Responsibilities include but not limited to participating in the interviewing and hiring process, mentoring/training associates, assigning work, and in collaboration with the Engineering Manager, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  2. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. Follow internal policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  3. Reviews work of team to ensure quality and quantity; ensures adherence to pertinent regulations and procedures.
  4. Ensures maintenance policy and procedures are followed for Hotel, Restaurant and Central Plants and equipment. This may include high-energy and complex systems such as: High pressure steam, high voltage, pneumatics, and PLC controls.
  5. Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
  6. Receives, prioritizes, assigns, and completes work according to Work Request, prioritizes Work Request.
  7. Assists Engineering Manager in reviewing bids from firms for conformity to contract requirements and proposes acceptable bids
  8. This position is essential personnel and required to report to work regardless of conditions, emergency or otherwise
  9. Attends training needed to maintain proficiency in the field.
  10. Performs other duties as required.

Required and Preferred Education and Experience:

Required:

  1. Commonwealth of Virginia Journeyman Electrical or Mechanical License, 2 or more years of college level courses in related fields
  2. High school diploma or G.E.D.
  3. Maintenance experience with types of equipment used in Hotels and Restaurants or Industrial equipment
  4. 5+ years of combined progressive experience in the Hospitality industry performing duties of a Supervisor, Project Manager, or other related position.
  5. Demonstrated experience in building automation including TRANE Summit and JOHNSON Controls.
  6. Demonstrated experience working with Hotel and Restaurant equipment and control systems and/or Industrial equipment and control systems.

Preferred:

  1. Professional Masters License in Mechanical or Electrical.
  2. Supervisory experience in HVAC/R, including training staff in diagnosis and repair of equipment and implementing Preventive Maintenance schedules.
  3. HAZWOPER 40 Hour
  4. OSHA 30 Hour – General Industry
  5. Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) experience preferred: TMA Systems

Qualifications:

  1. In order to be an authorized driver of company vehicles, candidates must be able to satisfy the following:
    • Must possess a valid Virginia Driver's License
    • Must be able to provide a 5-year Motor Vehicle Record prior to employment
    • Must be at least 21 years of age
    • May not have more than 1 moving violation or at fault accident within 12 months
    • May not have more than 2 moving violations or at fault accidents within 36 months
    • May not have any serious motor vehicle violations including but not limited to excessive speeding, reckless driving, DUI/DWI, suspended or revoked license, etc.
  2. Ability to (1) conduct training sessions, (2) communicate effectively orally and in writing, (3) understand/interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints and diagrams, (4) accomplish assigned dutie
  3. Excellent organizational and time management skills, conversant in theory, principles, and methods of persuasive speaking, discussion, and
  4. Ability and willingness to (1) work all other requested work assignments; (2) work any shifts; (3) respond positively to emergency recall to work; (4) work well with others in a team environment
  5. Provides on call coverage 24 hours/day when needed using cell phone or
  6. This position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and shift work as
