Marriott Syracuse Downtown is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department. This role assists in ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and service while providing leadership and support to the housekeeping team.
What you will do each day?
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, including room attendants, housepersons, inspectors, and laundry staff.
- Partner with the Executive Housekeeper to develop schedules, assign workloads, and ensure staffing levels meet operational needs.
- Conduct inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with brand standards and guest expectations.
- Train, coach, motivate, and develop housekeeping associates while promoting a positive and productive work environment.
- Assist with performance management, including evaluations, coaching, corrective action recommendations, and recognition programs.
- Monitor inventory levels of linens, guest supplies, uniforms, and cleaning chemicals and assist with ordering and cost-control initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, OSHA, and loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Address guest concerns and service recovery opportunities promptly and professionally.
- Support department budgeting goals by maintaining productivity standards and controlling labor and supply expenses.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
