Role Overview: The Assistant Golf Professional is a key leader in delivering a 5-star golf experience. You will support golf shop and outside service operations, lead instructional clinics and junior camps, and assist in the execution of premier tournaments and member events. This role is designed for a dedicated professional looking to grow within the industry while managing the daily heartbeat of a world-class golf destination.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Golf Operations Leadership: Manage daily shifts at the golf operations check-in desk, providing elite service to members and guests.
  • Technical Excellence: Operate and stay current on POS systems, tournament software, and the GHIN handicap system, ensuring all scores are accurately input by the end of each shift.
  • Tournament & Event Management: Assist the Director of Golf and Head Professionals in coordinating play-days for the WGA, Lady 9-holers, and MGA. Lead the organization of group outings, special events, and activities at the Whitewater Putting Course.
  • Course Stewardship: Monitor pace of play and enforce all rules and regulations governing course usage. Proactively communicate with the Head Professional if play exceeds the 4-hour and 30-minute standard.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop monthly golf event calendars to synchronize efforts between Golf Maintenance, F&B, and Member Services.
  • Retail & Inventory: Drive retail sales through expert product knowledge and upselling. Assist the Retail Merchandise Manager with period-end physical inventories and stock management.
  • Administrative Accuracy: Complete daily close-out procedures and deposits with 100% accuracy immediately following each shift.

Employment Standards:

  • Professional Status: Must be at least 18 years of age and currently pursuing membership in the PGA.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a golf operations or resort environment is required.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to comprehend, read, and write English fluently.
  • Professional Image: Maintain a superlative professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the resort’s elite standing in the community.
  • Licensure: Must possess a current, valid driver’s license.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and work comfortably in varying outside weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively under stressful, high-occupancy conditions.
  • A "TEAM" first mentality with a consistently friendly and positive attitude.
